Transportation

If you need to make a transportation change for the day, please send a written note to your child's teacher no later than 1:30 p.m. to ensure we are able to notify your student and their teacher. For permanent transportation changes, please come in to the front office and speak to secretary Lora Graves.

Lost and found

The lost and found table is outside the gym door. Please put your child’s first and last name on all their jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, lunch bags and anything else you send to school.  It will help to make sure lost items are returned promptly.  If your child has lost something, remind them to check the lost and found table. After 30 days, all items left will be removed.

Volunteering

Clays Mill offers a variety of opportunities for families to participate in their child's learning. Anyone interested in volunteering must register with FCPS and clear a criminal background check.

Parent/teacher conferences

Teachers and families are both encouraged to initiate a conference. Parents/guardians should attend at least one conference with their child’s teacher each year.  Every effort is made to meet with families at a convenient time.  Please contact your child's teacher about scheduling.

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

Wellness Wednesdays

On the third Wednesday of each month, students and teachers wear comfortable exercise/active wear/sports clothing to school. Students participate in various movement activites, games, and exercises with emphasis on learning about living healthy and active lifestyles.

Kroger Community Rewards

You no longer need to buy reloadable Kroger gift cards to support the Clays Mill PTA. Now you can link your plus card to Clays Mill Elementary as a part of Kroger's Community Rewards program, and the PTA will receive a quarterly percentage. Please visit the Kroger site and link your plus card to CME PTA: 11655.

Box Tops for Education

Please make sure any box tops you turn in are taped to a box tops paper and/or in a closed plastic baggie labeled with your child's name and their homeroom teacher's name. Leave them in the white basket at the top of the main stairwell.
