Whether you are joining the Clays Mill Elementary community for the first time or a returning member – welcome! This academic year promises to be another exciting one at CME! As a PTA, our goal is to help teachers and staff make CME an environment of learning where our children are afforded the best and most innovative educational experience and resources. We are also responsible for creating events which engage and entertain students in an effort to create a sense of community among all families who attend this great elementary school. In order to meet these goals and fulfill our role as a PTA, fundraising is a central component of our organization.
The money we raise provides enhanced curriculum, improves technology and exceptional events and activities for our children. It also fills the gaps that state and district funds do not cover. Take a look at a snapshot of just some of the programs and events the PTA facilitates.
The PTA’s purpose is to support the faculty, staff, parents and, most importantly, our students at CME. Over the years, the PTA has become one of the strongest voices in the educational process that directly supports our children and school. You can show your support for the CME PTA in many ways. First, we encourage you to become a member of the PTA. We encourage you to show your commitment by joining. Second, we ask that you participate in the numerous events and programs we have planned throughout the year. You may be a volunteer, a committee member or an attendee. Whatever you decide to do is greatly appreciated. Additionally, you can show your support by helping us with our annual fundraiser. Encourage your child to participate and use that as an opportunity for a lesson in philanthropy, economics and gratitude, all while helping their school and having fun! Lastly, we encourage you to participate by giving us feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve and appreciate your creative ideas. You can email your thoughts and ideas to our general email at ptapresident4cme@gmail.com.
Together, we can enhance the learning environment of our children. We look forward to working with you this year!
PTA meetings start at 6 p.m. on the second Monday in the CME library (The few exceptions will be noted in the Happenings newsletter). All are welcome!
