PTA Programs and Events

Communications

We enable and promote school communications through our weekly email newsletter called the “Happenings” and create an annual directory of students which is helpful for classroom parties and general communication. We strive to make sure that all relevant school information is distributed in the most efficient manner possible.

Fundraising

Fundraising is a significant component of our organization. We strive to offer innovative ways to raise money through donation and events. Our biggest fundraiser occurs in the fall where we have had great success with a Walk-a-Thon and celebrating CME’s 60th birthday! In addition, other fundraising efforts include Spirit-wear, Kroger Community Rewards, Box Tops, Yearbook, and our annual book fair. We are continually thinking of new and creative ways to support our school through fundraising.

Enrichment

The PTA also provides and supports many enrichment activities at Clays Mill. We provide and act as a liaison for after school programs and clubs. With the help of our wonderful teachers we are able to promote and assist with the Science Fair and Academic Teams. The PTA also facilitates the PTA Reflections contest which enables students to create and submit works of art, music, dance and literature at the school, district, state and even national level. We also show our support of our teachers and staff through Hospitality meals and Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring.

Wellness

In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness, the PTA sponsors programs throughout the school which promote wellness. Our PTA organizes Clays Mill participation in the district’s PTA 5K held annually. We also have committees dedicated to the creation and maintenance of our landscaping. For beautification, the PTA contracts with a landscaping company to help mulch, weed and fertilize the grounds as needed. In the spring, the PTA organizes and provides volunteers for Field Day activities, which is an event enjoyed by all students.

Outreach

Clays Mill PTA works with the guidance counselor to identify particular needs the school may have throughout the year. As part of our outreach efforts we participate in the annual God’s Pantry Food Drive, Helping Hands and the clothing closet.
