New Principal Selection

Dear Teachers and Staff of Clays Mill,

This message is to officially inform you that we are beginning the important process of choosing the next principal for Clays Mill Elementary. Your service and commitment to the students and families at Clays Mill are commendable, and your voices will play an important role in helping us find the right person to lead the school’s next chapter of excellence.

As part of the principal selection process, we will seek your input to build the principal profile that will guide our search. The process will also include gathering input from families and community stakeholders. I encourage you to take an active role in sharing the school's goals and objectives and identifying the attributes you would like the next leader to possess.

Recognizing that everything rises and falls on effective leadership, choosing the next instructional and transformational leader for Clays Mill Elementary is critical to ensuring student success. As the superintendent designee for Clays Mill Elementary, I will lead the principal selection process. Every student deserves a highly effective staff and effective instructional leader.

I will provide more details about the process, including a tentative timeline and opportunities for public input, next week. The principal position was posted on Monday, April 7th, and the application window will be open until Monday, April 21st. If you have any questions, please contact me, Tiffany Marshall.

Clays Mill Elementary Families,

Thank you for your continued focus and dedication to the students at Clays Mill Elementary. 

As a follow-up to my initial email, we have now begun the search for the next principal at Clays Mill Elementary. As it is important to keep you informed as we embark on this journey, I want to outline the process and the anticipated timeline.

Monday, April 21st   - 3:00 p.m. Principal Profile Development Survey Form- An electronic Google link has been provided to families and stakeholders. The link will be open from: Monday, April 21st, to Monday, April 28^th

Tuesday, April 22nd    - 4:30 p.m. Special-Called SBDM Meeting- Principal Selection       Process Overview/ Timeline, Confidentiality

Tuesday, April 29th - 3:00 Principal Profile Input Session For Staff (IN-PERSON- Optional Faculty Meeting)

        

We will hold input sessions – one for faculty and staff in person and another for families and community partners electronically, using a Google document. I will conduct the in-person session at Clays Mill Elementary in the media center, where staff will be present, and I will monitor the electronic input submitted by parents, families, and community partners. 

Projected Timeline:

Members of the interview committee will include representatives from the School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) council. The SBDM council includes elected parents and school staff. 

 Monday, May 5th: 4:30 p.m. Special-Called SBDM Meeting-Applicant Review: The interview committee will review the principal's profile of parents, staff, and qualified applicants. 

Wednesday, May 7th: 4:30 p.m. Special-Called SBDM Meeting-Screening Interviews: The interview committee will meet to conduct candidate screening interviews. 

Tuesday, May 13th: 4:30 p.m. Special-Called SBDM Meeting-Screening Interviews: The interview committee will meet to conduct candidate screening interviews. 

Wednesday, May 14th: Finalist Interviews with the Superintendent
