Emily Greene Next Principal at Clays Mill Elementary

Fayette County Public Schools has named Emily Greene as the new principal of Clays Mill Elementary, beginning July 1. Greene, who has 13 years of education experience and dedicated service to public schools, has served as assistant principal at Glendover Elementary since 2022. 

“We look forward to the excitement Ms. Greene will bring as she builds relationships with families, students, and staff at Clays Mill,” said Superintendent Demetrus Liggins. 

Greene’s areas of strength include leading professional learning communities, reviewing data, and communicating with staff and families. “She is an instructional leader with a vision for the school that focuses on parent involvement, academic excellence, and enhancing a positive culture and climate. I look forward to working with her to support the school's mission,” said Chief School Leadership Officer Tiffany Marshall.

Greene holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s in Education from Concord University. Previously, she taught in West Virginia and was a technology and gifted/talented teacher at Eastern Kentucky University’s Model Laboratory School. In Boone County Schools, she served as district STEAM coordinator and as assistant principal at Burlington Elementary. 

Greene will take the helm at Clays Mill after Principal Grant Davis, whose new role will be districtwide elementary director of Teaching & Learning.
